Al Jazeera is an award-winning international news network, based in Doha, reaching an audience of over 280 million viewers. Halla joined Al Jazeera in March 2019 as a Principal Presenter, hosting the prime time Newshours and bulletins. She also hosted the discussion programme Inside Story, and the business and economics show Counting the Cost. Halla has also anchored some of the biggest stories and world events of the early 2020s including the Coronavirus pandemic, the Fall of Kabul and the Afghan Presidential Palace, and the bombing of Al Jazeera’s Gaza Bureau live on air.
Al Jazeera prides itself on giving voice to the voiceless, covering stories that often go under-reported in the media. Halla has interviewed thought leaders, international politicians, scientists and humanitarian workers, but also refugees and everyday people who are impacted by global events.
